Overview

The VMS4x00/5x00 track and trace system is ideal for challenging applications in the field of non-contact dynamic measurement as well as position determination and deformation detection for objects on a diverse range of conveyor systems. The smallest cuboid that fully encloses the object is precisely determined using one or several laser-based measuring heads, virtually regardless of the shape of the object. When using a certified system, the dimension data of the objects can be used for billing purposes. The system variant for deformation control detects even the smallest deformations on any of the six sides of cuboid objects and provides a perfect monitoring tool to check objects during goods receipt and storage.

Reliable object data forms the basis for exact calculation of freight costs. Thanks to the measurement accuracy, the VMS5x00 track and trace system delivers precise data in all dimensions thanks to a measurement accuracy up to 5 mm x 5 mm x 2 mm. Freight costs can be validated in this way and incorrectly declared goods can be correctly recalculated.
The system is certified for the European market according to the measuring instruments directive (MID) and for the American market in accordance with NTEP (OIML).
The dynamic scale value switching enables the automatic adaptation of defined tolerances depending on the object dimensions. This will increase the dimensioning rate.
Thanks to software separation, the metrologically relevant information is independent of the application-specific software component. This enables flexible and individualized adaptation to customer requirements without recertification.

The VMS4x00/5x00 track and trace system enables the dynamic, non-contact inline measurement of nearly any object shape – even at speeds of up to 4 m/s. This optimizes material throughput, thus saving time and money.

In addition, the system processes the acquired data and transmits it for further handling.

Targeted control even at high speeds

As a system controller, the SIM2000 Sensor Integration Machine summarizes the measured values into a point cloud.
Reliable measurements at conveyor belt speeds of up to 4.0 m/s.

Exact measurement of flat, deformed and touching objects

Flat objects such as book and letter deliveries with a height of at least 20 mm can be measured for billing purposes.

Using the Contour Verification system variant, the smallest deformations on any of the six sides of cubic objects can be detected.

Thanks to the inline detection and measurement of touching objects, the data can be used for billing purposes. Singulation is no longer required.
