Measuring dust emissions in production processes

For the safety of persons as well as machine and plant processes, fine dusts down to particle sizes in the µm range must be monitored in the factory hall air. These fine dusts are produced, for example, when processing materials such as wood, ceramics and glass, in process furnaces in the metal industry and are found in the emissions from power plant stacks. DUSTHUNTER scattered light dust measuring devices are optimally suited for these demanding applications in environments with sometimes hot or aggressive gases. They work with the principle of forward scattering of light and are therefore very easy to install through a single opening in the filter duct or stack.

One DUSTHUNTER is usually enough for dust measurement. If you also want to monitor the status of the filter quality, install one device each in the supply and exhaust air. The measured values obtained from both air streams can be used for condition monitoring. For example, deviations in the cleaned exhaust air caused by damage to the filter bag, e.g. due to aging of the fabric or defects during cleaning with blasts of compressed air, can be detected early on.
